It serves as a notice and as a reminder that you can do and be whatever it is that you choose to be and that society and others cannot dictate that to you, label you or confine you; you are only limited by you.

over the course of the next few weeks we will continue to share video and images of those that have participated in the project unlabeled project. then, on saturday, september 12th we'd like to invite everyone out to dc on film row located at 609 w. sheridian from 12 noon to 3pm where we will be screening the official project unlabeled video. this video, put together by derrico thomas, will include images and videos of each of the 92 girls that were photographed along with the never before heard poem of telesa hines written specifically for project unlabeled entitled "shades of sun."

i love babies. ESPECIALLY newborns. i could shoot them all day long. i love the freshness. i love the innocence. i love to sniff them - its no secret. i love the connections between them and the rest of their families. i just love babies!! two years ago i got to photograph thomas' older brother charlie and now i'm blessed with the chance to see thomas' change this beautiful family!!

i cant believe that i'm just getting around to sharing this! this past may i was extremely honored to be able to capture the birth of baby preston! to photograph a birth has been on my photography bucket list for a while now. it feels so good to be able to have accomplished it and take it off the list. enough about me though. prestons mom was AMAZING. she chose to do a natural, home delivery. it actually ended up being a water birth. she was determined to do it AND SHE DID!!

"let him sleep for when he wakes he will move mountains". i am a BIG lover of words. love the written word, the spoken word - love a good quote. i love it all! i love that little de's mama chose this quote to put above her baby's bed. he has so much potential! a life full of possibilities that lie ahead of him! maybe thats why i like newborns so much. not only are they so new and fresh - they are an enormous mass of potential greatness!!

ava grace : sneak peek : oklahoma newborn photographer

i had the honor of spending my morning with miss ava grace and her family! the girl had enough clothes and shoes to clothe all the babies in the metro. lol. not really, but she had A LOT of cute stuff. mom let me just have at it and i was like a kid in the candy store. thanks jamie! dad fed me and grandma encouraged me to shop. lol. i love that i can book a session with complete strangers and walk out at the end of the shoot feeling like i'm leaving friends! loved this entire family - esp that ava grace!!!

i confess. while his parents werent looking, i stole a few sniffs of charlie. i LOVE newborns! i love the smell of newborns. i love the size of newborns. i love their little yawns and their half smiles. i love their streches and their cute little toes! i love pretty much every thing about them! lol. charlie, of course, was no exception. he was the perfect little baby and definitely ready for his close up!

i had the honor of photographing this beautiful 4 day old baby, friday night, for a young couple that are friends of ours. there really is something almost magical about photographing babies. i truly love every minute of it! i mean how much more innocent, pure and fresh does life get than this!!

i think baby jeremiah weighed in at about 9.5lbs. 

i got to get my hands on him when he was about 5days old. 
they had really been itching for a newborn, so he really hit the spot!! 

i also photographed his big brother as a baby born 
(he's the little baby on the bookshelf in the gallery!).
i did try to control myself and not sniff him too much 
(how can you not give in to that new baby smell??). 
it didnt matter though, by the end, he was pretty tired of me 
- but i think we all got what we wanted!! 
lol.

Sneak Peek of Princess E.

Here's a little sneak peek of little Miss E. for her family. This baby was truly the princess. Oh man, she really kicked my baby fever in to overdrive (yes I have a baby of my own but she is growing waaay too fast!!). I think my uterus ached while I was holding her!! It was truly truly my pleasure to capture a few images for this family. I was so happy to work with Baby E. , I really think that she has done this before! She let me know just what I could and could not do - and she was up for just about all of it! I know I rave about all the families that I work with - but her parent are fantastic! I loved to watch them hold her and look over her - touch her and just love her! They were oozing out love! New babies are a GREAT THING!! It really reaffirms to me what love can do, what love between two people can create and that , man , God is GOOD!!

Wow. It looks like I've been a little neglectful with my blog!!

I have lots of news and pictures to share!

Recently we have started to offer photobooks. I really love these things. I personally have them. They are a great way to have all the photos from your session - bound in a hardbound book and custom designed for YOU!! A few have already been created and will be delivered soon!

Next week we will add pictures of the books to the site as well as prices!!

July 9th will kick off a special newborn promotional - stay tuned!!
