this kid right here! lol! he just turned three so we headed downtown to the botanical gardens to catch a few images of him! he seriously had me rolling most of  the shoot (almost literally rolled down a few steep hills too, but thats another story!). the first time i photographed jason i think he was somewhere around 5 days old. look at him now!! (semi) grown and SO cute!!

saturday i had the pleasure of spending my morning hanging out with reagan and his parents. it was actually his birthday! the BIG 2!! he seems to be all boy. cars...rocks...balls... a nice little change from my five girls, lol. check out his blonde locks, those gorgeous eyes and that beautiful smile - he let that out the bag just a few times for me to try to snap. love it!!! oh by the way, reagan, if youre "reading" this - i accidentally ran off with two of your rocks! WHAT??  i know! i'm so sorry!!

miss monae : senior session : oklahoma city photographer

yesterday (well technically 2 days ago since it is the wee hours of the morning - the time in which i get most of my work done) i got to hang out with monae for a bit. i gotta say that i LOVED monae! felt like i knew her before i even met her! the girl is beautiful and talented AND also a bobcat (once again coming out of my alma mater). i know i keep saying how pretty the girls are there, but, seriously the proof is in the pudding. just see for yourself!!

i had the privilege of spending a  few hours with nakyla yesterday to do her senior session. shes a 2k10 graduate coming out of my alma mater! i think that automatically makes her cool. lol. i will say that my school (yes i said MY) has some beautiful kids coming out of it! this is just a sneak peek of the few from nakyla's session - something to just hold her over until her gallery is ready!

visual storybooks : video vs. slideshow : oklahoma city area photographer

we are now offering visual storybooks! there are two types to choose from! the video storybook and the slideshow storybook. the best way to describe the differences between the two is to let you see them for yourself.
the video storybook is more comparable to a music video styled show and is mostly computer generated. the slideshow storybook is completely custom and created "by hand", so to speak. for comparison's sake, we're using the same images and music in both shows. enjoy!

baby molly

please PLEASE pray for baby molly. she was born last thursday night and is in critical condition on a heart/lung by pass machine. may God wrap his arms of comfort and support around this family.

birthday and a special : oklahoma city photographer

1 year ago today - my beautiful, happy, mohawk having, high five givin, razzberry spittin, no night sleepin baby girl, a'khari grace, joined our family. i truly cannot imagine my life without her. she is pure inspiration and motivation. though i'm a bit in denial of her growing up - i thought we would celebrate at withunmind photography by running a little special. here are the details : book a session within the next seven days and you will be able to purchase an 8x10 from your session for only $1. and heres the fine print (which we'll make the same size as the regualar print, lol): session must be booked (scheduled) and held (by paying your $50.00 session fee) by thursday, march 11th, 2010. session must take place by may 11th, 2010. ok i'm off to see if we can negotiate this growing up thing!

i had a session a few weeks ago for a really good friend of mine. actually, this session was at least  2 years in the making. she had been throwing around the idea of creating a few photographic images of herself for her husband. something seductive, something sexy - without being completely revealing. she called it her "after 5" session. during those 2 years, i'm not sure if she was just building up the nerve to do the photo shoot, or, if she was just trying to torture me, thinking i would never get her in front of the camera. as women, we're usually the ones behind  the camera taking the pictures. getting us on the other side of the lens, even for just a single candid shot, can be difficult; and, i won't even talk about how that one image ends up in the recycle bin way too often. we can definitely be our own worse critic. don't get me going on that because i'm with the best of them (as far as "accidentally" deleting pictures that is).  fast forward two years, i get a call - "valerie, i'm ready.......lets do this." we had a great shoot!!!" beautiful images. lots of laughing. i think i had to duck and cover at least once because we thought the hubby had got home early (these were a surprise for him). something unexpected happened though. these images, meant to be a gift for her husband, something she did just for him, ended up being a gift for her as well. after she got to view the images from the shoot , she told me how good they made her feel, how sexy  she felt. the girl is hot ya'll! if she didn't know that before , she knows it now! this got me to thinking, "man" (yes that's how i think when i'm talking to myself) ...."i want to make every woman feel like that!!" i mean really, to have images of yourself that you absolutely love???" mine usually fall into the category of images that i don't hate, lol. i actually have a few that my own husband (of course wouldn't be using anyone else's hubby) snapped of me, that make me feel pretty good if i may say so myself. but uh, you wont be seeing them - just like no one else will be seeing the images from your session (unless you specifically allow it) - but just to have them and to know - this is me, it makes me smile.  if you know me and you've talked to me in the past few weeks - you know that these new sessions that are being offered are  all i've been able to talk about. i know i'm not reinventing the wheel - boudoir photography is not a new thing at all. it is however new to withunmind photography. the excitement and passion are fresh and i am beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to capture stunning images of real women. my first focus is to make you feel good about you by creating images that you will love, that will add a little quick to your step and give you just one more reason to smile.. after we get that out the way, a little eye candy for your fella doesn't hurt either.

 

  

  

  

  

  

 

sweet baby of mine : oklahoma city area photographer

sweet sweet baby of mine. 11 month old a'khari grace. i'm SO in love with this kid! shes the baby, our last one, and, i do not want her to grow up! i'm really have a hard time coming to terms with that. anyhow, a few weeks ago, after having a newborn session (see previous post below) i was inspired to break (back) out the red tutu and try to capture a few shots of my baby girl in it. she only gave me five minutes before she had had enough of me - thats okay though, it was just enough time to get what i needed! stay tuned for her first birthday party pictures. sniff. sniff.

i had the honor of photographing this beautiful 4 day old baby, friday night, for a young couple that are friends of ours. there really is something almost magical about photographing babies. i truly love every minute of it! i mean how much more innocent, pure and fresh does life get than this!!

ahhhh. me and the blog have come to a mutual understanding. i have prettied it up a bit,and, in return it will let me post my pictures. once again, all is right with the world!

my blog is officially driving me crazy!! i've never had problems with it until now!
i cant seem to post more than one picture at a time (and i have sooooo many to share).
my header doesnt want to be centered and i could go on and on! we may be moving this

miss mya

baby jeremiah : oklahoma city baby photographer

i think baby jeremiah weighed in at about 9.5lbs. 

i got to get my hands on him when he was about 5days old. 
they had really been itching for a newborn, so he really hit the spot!! 

i also photographed his big brother as a baby born 
(he's the little baby on the bookshelf in the gallery!).
i did try to control myself and not sniff him too much 
(how can you not give in to that new baby smell??). 
it didnt matter though, by the end, he was pretty tired of me 
- but i think we all got what we wanted!! 
lol.
